his scene is not all that unusual in the Wallowa Mountains. You can see elk grazing with your horse in meadows during the evening after you've arrived in camp.

Other four-legged species include the ubiquitous mule deer, big horn sheep, mountain goats, bear, cougar, and coyote.

Many of the high lakes are stocked with brook, eastern, and golden trout.

When you look up, you could see peregrine falcon, bald eagle, ferruginous hawk, or the Swainson's hawk, all protected species in Eagle Cap Wilderness.
